If reminders work while the app is open, but not when it's closed, it's almost always a phone battery-saving setting getting in the way — not this app. Try these, in order:

Check the menu above — the status line should say "registered ✓". If it says anything else, tap "Enable notifications" first.

Lock the app in Recent Apps. Open the Recent Apps / multitasking view, find your browser's card, tap and hold it, and look for a padlock icon to lock it. This is the single biggest fix on many Android phones — without it, the phone can fully kill the browser the moment it's swiped away, before it ever gets a chance to show the reminder.

Turn off battery restrictions for your browser. In your phone's Settings → Battery (or Apps → your browser → Battery), set it to "No restrictions" or "Unrestricted" rather than "Optimized" or "Restricted".

Enable Autostart. On Xiaomi/Redmi/POCO (MIUI) phones specifically: Settings → Apps → Permissions → Autostart → turn it on for your browser. Samsung, OnePlus, Oppo, and Vivo have similar "background activity" toggles under their own battery settings.

iPhone/iPad: notifications only work once the app is installed to your Home Screen (Share → Add to Home Screen) — they won't work from a regular Safari tab at all.

Use Test notification in the menu after each change — close the app fully (and lock it in Recent Apps) before checking if it arrived.
Xiaomi/MIUI phones in particular are known for being unusually aggressive about this — if you're still stuck after all of the above, searching "dontkillmyapp" plus your exact phone model will usually turn up model-specific steps.
